I have read mostly non-fiction in 2009 and the best were:
Made to Stick see http://www.madetostick.com/thebook/
A neat book with great stories of examples of things that stick and things that do not.
Dead Aid by Dambisa Moyo see http://www.dambisamoyo.com/deadaid.html
Moyo is an African economist that proposes alternatives to aid. Very credible.
"The Five Dysfunctions of a Team" by Patrick Lencioni see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Five_Dysfunctions_of_a_Team
A disarming little story that points things that a critical to people who work in teams.
Boys Adrift see http://www.boysadrift.com/comments.htm
A book that talks about the problems some boys have with our current educational system. A must read for all parents of boy children.
and a fiction book that made quite and impression on me was
The Shack see http://gregboyd.blogspot.com/2008/06/shack-review.html
I found this book quite challenging to my ideas of God. Very inspiring and thought provoking.
I recommend all of these books and would love to hear about other books people really liked in 2009.
