Jim and I played golf with Harvey Thomson over at Robert H Schaffer and Associates last week and had a great time.
I spent my time exploring his experiences with Rapid Results and some of my challenges and opportunities. At one point in the conversation Harvey mentione escape hatches as a reason that often clients don’t do what we see as fairly obvious.
What we talked about is the challenges for team members to expect and get better results. It is very difficult for managers to demand and employees to deliver better results. This behaviour of using escape hatches is a way of escaping from having to demand/deliver better results.
