In a meeting yesterday, I had a great conversation on the value of opening Innovation up to everyone and making it part of your culture. But we largely talked about examples where organizations opened problems up to competition externally to look for real innovation.
I thought this was very interesting… the more we talked the more it became apparent that sometimes when we are in our environment, we are not always able to see the problem with renewed perspective.
This is when we started talking about creating internal and external innovation value networks that open the creative and perspective approaches. This also extends to involving the customer in the process, so that they can help drive you to a better understanding of the problem.
